Monday October 3, 2011 - NS 289 at Hamilton Road

6:34pm NS 289 at Hamilton Road South of Fort Wayne, Indiana

This afternoon after work I decided I would go out and attempt to take some photographs and video of trains.  Unfortunately I didn't get off work until after 5pm so that didn't leave a lot of sun light left.  I was hearing 35N, L68, and 289. The scanner was pretty quite as is normal for a Monday.  35N was just coming into town and works East Wayne yard and L68 is a train that came in from the South and headed East of where I was at that moment.  I knew that 289 was eventually going to be coming my way and turning and heading South.  When 289 got the signal I headed to Hamilton Road for this photograph even before the train had departed from where it was.  It was a short wait before 289 raced by my position  at Hamilton road at track speed 18:34 (6:34pm).

Monday September 12, 2011 -- L96 with NS 3317 leading

At the tail end of my two week vacation I had one more Monday off.  I had been out in the morning and saw L96 with the power shown.  Eariler in the week I had noticed that Norfolk Southern had a pair of the Wheeling and Lake Erie engines in town so I headed out in the afternoon hoping the train I saw earlier in the morning might have that locomotive leading.  No such luck.  Here is a photograph of L96 returning to Fort Wayne from SDI at the East end of Spencerville Siding (County Road 68).  It was a warm and partly sunny afternoon.

Saturday September 10, 2011 - NS 218 with BNSF 639 in Warbonnet Paint

I found my self with a rare Saturday off so I headed out for some rail fanning action.  Unfortunately the day started out foggy, but I did manage to catch a couple of good trains.  Here is NS 218 screeming past Morgan Road East of New Haven Indiana with BNSF 639 leading the way still in Santa Fe Warbonnet paint!

Sunday September 25, 2011 - New Website is finished

I guess saying that my website is finished is not the correct thing to say.  I have a working version of the website that I can update within a few minutes.  The content and cosmetics of the site may change over time as I have time to work on it, but for now I can come back from a train chasing experience and update the site within a few minutes.  The web site is www.northeastindianarailfan.com .  The goal of the work I did was to do just that in making it easier to update.  I also wanted to give it a new look and feel.  Feel free to visit and enjoy.

Fostoria/Deshler Ohio June 23, 2011

This video was shot by my son then edited using Cyblerlink Power Director.  Video Locations include Columbus Avenue in Fostoria Ohio and the Deshler Ohio CSX Diamond.  Trains indcluded are CSX Q276,  NS 262, and  NS 288 running side by side East bound, and NS 306 all at Columbus Ave in Fostoria Ohio, and CSX Q340 North bound at the Deshler Diamond.   The video was shot by my Ten year old son Dakota while on vacation on June 23, 2011.  I imported the pictures and video into the Cyberlink Power Director software to see what I could create with it.
